## place a bet

Folk supports two flavors:

- **play money** (Manifold): free, zero risk, on by default. great for bragging
  rights.
- **real money** (Kalshi): actual regulated event contracts, if you connect
  your own Kalshi account.

every real-money trade is quote-first: Folk shows you the price and asks you to
**confirm before anything is placed**, and there are hard per-trade and daily
caps you can't blow past by accident.

## make your own market

the fun one. invent a market about literally anything and let your friends
trade it:
