# an ai that watches what you bought and claims the price drop

> forward folk a receipt and it watches the price. if it drops inside the store's adjustment or return window, folk texts you the refund request ready to send.

The week after you buy something is when it goes on sale. Most stores will refund the difference if you ask inside their window, and almost nobody does, because nobody is checking the price of a jacket they already own. folk checks. It knows the window, watches the price every night, and when it falls it texts you with the request written. It also checks for a working coupon on orders that have not shipped yet, and tells you when cancel and rebuy comes out ahead.

## How folk does it

### forward the receipt

A screenshot, an order confirmation, or nothing at all if folk reads your Gmail receipts. folk pulls the merchant, items, price, and order date, and looks up the store's return and price-adjustment policy so it knows how long it has.

### folk watches the price inside the window

Every night folk checks the item price and looks for working coupon codes. It only fights inside the store's adjustment or return window, so it never sends a request the store can say no to on a technicality.

### the request arrives ready

"the jacket you bought tuesday dropped $40, adjustment request is ready" is the text. Say send and it goes from your Gmail. For orders that have not shipped, folk tells you the cancel-and-rebuy math instead and leaves the reorder to you.

## Example conversation

**You:** [receipt screenshot, $189 jacket]

**folk:** got it. they do price adjustments for 14 days, i'll watch it till the 24th.

**folk:** the jacket dropped to $149. adjustment request for the $40 is drafted, send it?

**You:** send

**folk:** sent from your gmail. i'll tell you when the $40 posts.

## FAQ

### Does folk cancel and reorder for me when it finds a coupon?

No. For unshipped orders folk does the math and tells you when cancelling and rebuying with the code saves money, but you place the new order. folk never re-orders or cancels on its own.

### How does folk know the store's return window?

For every tracked purchase folk looks up the store's published return and price-adjustment policy and watches only inside it. If a store does not do adjustments, folk tells you that up front instead of drafting a request that will be refused.

### Which purchases does folk track?

Anything over about $25 with a receipt: forwarded screenshots, order confirmations, or Gmail receipts folk reads automatically. Smaller purchases are not worth the fight, so they are skipped.
