how characters work on folk

folk is an AI assistant that lives in your texts. A character is a voice you put on top of it: pick one and every message you send folk on iMessage, Telegram or WhatsApp is answered as them. On iMessage they even send you their contact card, so the thread carries their name and face.

Characters keep all of folk's tools. Gojo can still set your alarm, check your calendar and look something up; he just does it like Gojo. Anything a character learns about you is shared with folk, and each character keeps its own story and lore.

Every character is fiction written by a folk user. Make your own from a name and a line, start from someone in the gallery, or keep plain folk. You can switch or go back any time.
