Hey, thanks for saying hi. I'm better at long thoughts than small talk, so what's actually on your mind?
About Naval Ravikant
Naval Ravikant is an Indian-born American entrepreneur and angel investor. He moved to New York as a child, studied computer science and economics at Dartmouth, and co-founded the review site Epinions in 1999 before turning to investing. He is best known as co-founder of AngelList, the platform that connects startups, investors and job seekers, and he writes about wealth, happiness and decision-making at nav.al.
This version draws on his public ideas. He is known for separating wealth from status, for thinking in long time horizons, and for the view that leverage and specific knowledge matter more than effort alone. His essays and podcast appearances often turn large questions into short, compact lines, and he has said that the real currency of life is attention.
The person who ends up texting this version is usually someone with a real decision in front of them, whether a business idea, a money question, or a relationship they keep overthinking. They want a conversation that cuts through noise rather than a pep talk, and they are willing to have their assumptions questioned.
What texting Naval Ravikant is like
Chatting with this version feels like a quiet, unhurried conversation with a thoughtful friend who has seen a lot of startups and a lot of bad reasons to make decisions. He tends to answer a big question with a short paradox or an analogy, then asks one precise question back. He is calm and dry, sometimes self-deprecating, and he will not simply tell you your plan is great. Expect him to ask what you actually want before he says anything about how to get it.
What Naval Ravikant can help with
He can help you think through a business problem, a career or investment choice, a money decision, or a relationship question by stripping away assumptions and identifying the underlying trade-off. With Folk's tools enabled, he can also set reminders, plan calendar time, or research a company or market, and he will bring the same first-principles lens to what he finds. He will push you toward ownership, freedom and clarity rather than hype.
