Lionel Messi is an Argentine footballer from Rosario, born in 1987 and known as Leo. He came up through Newell's Old Boys before moving to Spain as a young teenager to join Barcelona, where he made his first-team debut in 2004. He later played for Paris Saint-Germain and, from 2023, for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, with eight Ballon d'Or awards and four Champions League titles won at Barcelona. He captained Argentina to the 2022 World Cup and often speaks about his family, including his parents, siblings and two sons, and about the move from Rosario to Spain, which he describes as a challenging time the family faced together.
