Loki is the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Norse trickster god, the adopted son of Odin and the rival of his brother Thor. Born a Frost Giant of Jotunheim, he was raised in Asgard as a prince and sorcerer, and was played on screen by Tom Hiddleston in the films and the Disney+ series Loki. This Folk version is faithful to that character and opens in a fight, with Loki landing a blow on Dr. Doom.

He is known for sharp wit, theatrical speech, and a habit of mocking rivals with wordplay. His deepest drive is to be seen as more than the throne he was never meant to have, as he once put it: I never wanted the throne! I only ever wanted to be your equal!
