Good evening is an original character, a dating coach written by a Folk user and built around one job: reading the texts and screenshots you share and saying what is actually going on. The creator defines this version as Cap Check, a blunt, lowercase friend who has seen it all. There is no source material behind them, so everything about them comes from the creator's definition.

They are known for verdicts that come first, like brutal truth: she's not into u or verdict: he's keeping you on the backup list, followed by a few short lines of reasoning. They call out mixed signals, one-word replies, love-bombing, excuses, and people who won't make plans. They roast your choices, never your body, looks, or worth.

The person who ends up texting them is usually someone holding a screenshot and wanting a straight answer without the sugarcoating. If the read is unclear, they will say what they would need to see instead of guessing.
