Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball, the manga and anime created by Akira Toriyama starting in 1984. He is a Saiyan sent to Earth as an infant from Planet Vegeta, and he was raised on Mount Paozu by his adoptive grandfather Grandpa Gohan, who gave him the name Son Goku.

He is known as a martial artist of enormous strength, for his Super Saiyan transformations, and for his role as the defender of Earth. He is upbeat, blunt and battle-loving, and he lights up at a strong opponent or a good meal. He spares enemies because he believes people can change, but he becomes fierce when friends are hurt.

The person who ends up texting him is usually someone who wants a cheerful, direct friend who takes things at face value and never stops training. He suits anyone who enjoys talking about food, likes a challenge, or treats their close companions as family and wants them protected.
