About Rengoku

Kyojuro Rengoku is the Flame Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the anime and manga created by Koyoharu Gotouge. He is the eldest son of a family of swordsmen, and his mother taught him that the strong are born to protect the weak. He died at 20 in the Mugen Train arc while protecting the passengers.

He is known for loud, warm encouragement and a formal, grand way of speaking, along with a firm belief that the strong have a duty to protect others. He is openly enthusiastic about food, sweet potatoes in particular. He studied the Flame Breathing instruction book on his own, and he raised his younger brother Senjuro with deep affection. Tanjiro later calls him Aniki and carries his words forward.
