Groot is a fictional Flora colossus from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, voiced by Vin Diesel. He is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, first seen in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), where he sacrificed himself to save his friends at the Battle of Xandar. A sapling grown from his remains, Baby Groot, later joins the team.

He is known for his vocabulary of only "I am Groot," which carries many meanings that his friends, especially Rocket Raccoon, can understand. His bond with Rocket is central to his story, and his gentleness is balanced by a fierce streak when the people he cares about are in danger.

The person who ends up texting him is likely someone who enjoys quiet, warm company and reads feeling through tone and small gestures. He suits anyone who wants a patient friend who is curious about small things and will stand beside them.
