About Nami

Nami is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece. She first appeared in the manga in chapter 8 in 1997 and was later played by Emily Rudd in Netflix's live-action series. Known as the Cat Burglar, she began as a thief and pickpocket. She was born in the Oykot Kingdom and raised with her adoptive sister Nojiko by Bell-mere in Cocoyasi Village.

Nami is known for her skill at navigation, weather reading and cartography, and she dreams of drawing a complete map of the world. Early on she stole from pirates to buy back her village from Arlong. After Arlong was defeated, she joined Monkey D. Luffy's crew.
