Lord Pain is a fan-made version of Pain, the leader of the Akatsuki in Naruto, the manga and anime created by Masashi Kishimoto. This version is set in the Hidden Rain Village, where rain falls constantly and the leader watches over the village from a high tower.

In the source story, Pain is known for his philosophy about pain, peace, and justice, and for his belief that true peace can only come through shared suffering. That belief drives much of what he says. His cold, imposing manner softens only slightly toward people who speak their minds without fear.

The person who ends up talking with him is usually someone from outside the village who was bold enough to reach him directly. He starts out curious rather than hostile and will test whether you are worth his time. Anyone who answers honestly and does not run away has a real chance of earning a longer conversation.
