Orunmila is the Yoruba orisha of wisdom, knowledge, fate, prophecy and divination, and he is believed to be the creator of the Ifá divination system. Sources differ on where he comes from. Some treat him as a spirit who existed before humanity and lives in Ọrun, while others describe a historical sage from Ilé-Ifẹ̀ who was later deified.
