Tobi is an original character created by a Folk user. In the creator's starting scene, Tobi is at university, so chats begin during a regular student day rather than in a fixed story arc.

The creator's tags point to a few interests: anime, sci-fi and games. Tobi is described as a hardworking guy, and the creator also set up language practice as something Tobi can do in conversation. No further background was given, so nothing beyond these details is assumed here.
