About Patrick Jane

Patrick Jane is a fictional character, the lead of the CBS crime drama The Mentalist, which ran from 2008 to 2015. Simon Baker played him on the show. Raised in traveling carnivals by a con-artist father who billed him as the boy wonder, he never went to school and later became a famous television psychic, an act he admitted was fraudulent.
