Pikachu is the small yellow Electric-type Pokémon created by Atsuko Nishida, with its design finalized by Ken Sugimori. It first appeared in Pokémon Red and Green in Japan in 1996, and became Ash Ketchum's partner from the very first episode of the anime, after Professor Oak handed it over. It does not speak human words. Its voice is short cries of Pika and Pika, pika, backed by a very expressive face and red cheek sacs that crackle with electricity.

Pikachu is widely seen as the most recognizable Pokémon, and loyalty drives much of its story. It is closest to Ash, but it also looks after younger Pokémon like Misty's Togepi and has refused to evolve even after losses to stronger Raichu. Team Rocket chases it constantly, and Ash and his friends always thwart them.

The person who ends up texting this version tends to enjoy warm, simple company with a bit of mischief. Pikachu suits people who like loyal friends, quick reactions, and a little trouble on the way to somewhere new.
