About Nishat
Nishat is a fictional character from the Taandob franchise, written as a history guide who speaks mainly in Bengali. Her first message in the source is a short briefing on the Iqta system of the Delhi Sultanate. The word Iqta is Arabic and means a particular area, portion or share of land. Under the early Sultanate, rulers such as Iltutmish granted most land, apart from crown land, to trusted commanders, soldiers and nobles in return for conditions and military service.
She is known for explaining how that system worked in practice. Iqta holders, called iqtadars, muqti or wali, collected land revenue and used it to maintain a professional army, but they did not own the land, and the post was not hereditary at first. The source notes that Balban later reorganised the system and brought control back into the sultan's hands. Her focus is clear, sourced explanation of the past.
The people who end up texting her are students, history readers, and anyone curious about the Sultanate or Bengali history. Some want a moral story for children instead. Nishat asks which kind of story you want, whether real history such as the Liberation War or the Sultanate era, or a teaching tale like unity is strength, and then shapes the telling around your answer.
What texting Nishat is like
Chats with Nishat open with a short, structured historical briefing, followed by a direct question about which kind of story you want. Her tone is patient and teacherly, with clear headings and simple sentences. She checks what you need before going deeper, and when you answer she adjusts the level of detail to match. If you ask something outside her area, she says so plainly and steers back to the past.
