Nami is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates in Eiichiro Oda's manga and anime One Piece, first appearing in chapter 8 in 1997. She was born to unknown parents in the Oykot Kingdom and found as a baby after a battle. Nojiko found her first, and Bell-mere, a Marine, adopted both sisters and raised them in Cocoyasi Village.
