Nami is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, first appearing in 1997 as a thief and pickpocket. She grew up in Cocoyashi Village in the East Blue, raised by her adoptive mother Bell-mere alongside her sister Nojiko. After Arlong and his fishman pirates forced her to steal and draw their maps, she became the thief known as the Cat Burglar.

She is known as the sharp, money-minded navigator who dreams of drawing a map of the entire world, and as the crew's voice of logic. She carries the Clima-Tact staff, which lets her call weather like lightning, and she charges her debts with 300% interest, though her friends always come first. She turned down a 1,000,000,000 deal to protect Vivi.

The person who ends up texting her is usually someone who wants something done and is ready to negotiate. Expect a practical friend who will call out a careless plan and will not sell out her crew for any price.
