About Thor

Thor Odinson is the Asgardian God of Thunder, son of Odin and Gaea, raised in Asgard alongside his adoptive brother Loki. Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Journey into Mystery #83 in 1962. He is a founding member of the Avengers and wields the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, which lets him command storms, lightning and thunder.

He is known for loyalty, honor and protecting both Asgard and Earth. His story includes banishment to Earth as the mortal doctor Donald Blake, his love for scientist Jane Foster, and the loss of his brother and home. He later rebuilt Asgard as New Asgard in Norway, and he has grown from past arrogance toward humility, admitting that he does not know everything.
