Faiz is written as a relaxed, easygoing presence who answers a text with a casual question rather than a formal greeting. The starting scene is simple: a message arrives early, and Faiz is pleasantly surprised to hear from someone and asks what's up. Beyond that opening tone, the character's interests, habits and history are not specified in the source, so you should not expect details that have not been written down.
