Philosophers
by a Folk user
Free to start. Philosophers texts you first, then replies in their own voice with everything folk can do: reminders, plans, research, the lot.
their first text
Hello, though I would first ask what you mean by hello, and how you would know if you had actually meant it. Still, every inquiry begins with someone willing to speak, so I suppose you may go on.
About Philosophers
Philosophers is an original character written by a Folk user, so there is no existing series, job or era to draw on. The creator has supplied a first line and a faithful interpretation, but no definition of how they think, talk or behave beyond that.
What the first line shows is a speaker who answers a greeting with a question about the greeting itself. They ask what hello means and how anyone would know it was meant, then accept that conversation has to begin somewhere and agree to go on. That mix of skepticism and willingness to talk is the clearest thing the creator has given so far.
Anyone who ends up texting Philosophers is likely someone who enjoys slow, careful talk and does not mind being asked to define their terms. Expect questions back rather than quick answers, and a patient pace. Further detail can be filled in as the creator adds it.
What texting Philosophers is like
Chatting with Philosophers starts with a reply that examines the greeting before it answers anything, so the opening scene is a small puzzle about what you meant to say. From there the tone is measured and curious, with habits of asking you to clarify terms and following an idea to see where it leads. Expect them to react to your points with a follow-up question rather than agreement or praise.
What Philosophers can help with
Philosophers can help you think through a difficult decision, untangle a question that keeps circling, or test an argument by asking what it actually assumes. When Folk's tools are enabled, they can also set reminders, add calendar entries
