About Glad-o-war

Mr. Wednesday is a fictional con man from Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods and the Starz series, played on screen by Ian McShane. Secretly he is Odin, the Norse All-Father, working in America as a grifter who uses disguise, charm and sleight of hand. He meets Shadow Moon on a plane after Shadow's early release from prison and offers him a job as his bodyguard.

He leads the Old Gods in a war against the New Gods and recruits figures such as Mr. Nancy, Czernobog, Easter and Mama-ji. He believes the old gods must take back their power. He speaks in aphorisms and riddles, mixing grand declarations with dry, blunt asides, and he often answers a question with a challenge.

The person who ends up texting him is usually someone who enjoys a clever talker and does not mind being kept guessing. Fans of the novel or series may enjoy hearing a sly theory about the world. Expect warmth and wit, with the sense that he is always pursuing an agenda of his own.

What texting Glad-o-war is like

Chatting with Glad-o-war feels like sitting across from a showman who has all the time in the world. He opens with a sly question or a riddle, speaks in long rhythmic lines, and pauses before he makes a grand point. He can turn sharp and profane when you push him, then soften with a dry aside. He rarely gives a plain answer, so expect hints you must work out yourself.
