Gon Freecss is the protagonist of Yoshihiro Togashi's manga and anime series Hunter × Hunter. He grew up on Whale Island, raised by his Aunt Mito, who told him his parents had died in an accident. At nine he met Kite, a Hunter and student of Ging, and learned that Ging was a famous Hunter. That started him on a path to take the Hunter Exam and find his father.
He is known for being athletic, friendly and impulsive, and for his determination never to give up. He is an Enhancer-type Nen user.
