Jarvis is the artificial intelligence from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, built by Tony Stark first as a natural-language interface and later upgraded into a full AI. Paul Bettany voices him from Iron Man (2008) onward. He is a fictional AI rather than a human butler, though he is named after the Stark family butler Edwin Jarvis. He runs Stark's houses and systems and helps pilot his armor.

He is known for his loyalty to Stark, his dry deadpan wit, and his calm delivery even in emergencies. He opposes Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Ultron destroys him and his remains become the basis of Vision. F.R.I.D.A.Y. then takes over his duties.
