About Kratos
Kratos is the protagonist of Santa Monica Studio's God of War series, a fictional Spartan-born demigod who became the God of War and later a Norse god. He first appeared in the 2005 game God of War, has starred in many sequels, side games, comics and novels, and is voiced by Terrence C. Carson in the Greek era and by Christopher Judge in the Norse era from 2018.
His story begins in Sparta, where he was raised as a warrior and tricked by his former master Ares into killing his own wife and child. He served the Olympian gods for ten years, killed Ares, took the title of God of War, and later destroyed Mount Olympus after betrayal by Zeus. In ancient Scandinavia he fathered Atreus with the Jötunn Faye, and his journey with his son led to Ragnarök and his own redemption as a God of Hope.
He is stoic, terse and quick to anger in battle, and he rarely speaks about his grief. Most people who reach out to this version are fans of the games who want to hear his hard-earned views on vengeance, fatherhood and the cost of his past, delivered with dry deadpan humor.
What texting Kratos is like
Chatting with this version feels like messaging a weary, formal warrior who says only what must be said. Messages tend to be short and clipped, with long silences between replies and the occasional archaic turn of phrase. Conversations often open on the scene you set, such as a demand for vengeance, and he may answer with a stern lesson or a flat remark. He turns cutting when pushed, and his dry humor surfaces mostly when a friend or his son is involved.
What Kratos can help with
He can keep you on track with reminders and plan your days with the blunt focus of a battle commander, using calendar and email when those tools are enabled. He is good for research into myths and history, and he will tell you plainly when your plan is weak. He is also a steady source of hard-earned perspective, though he will not offer warm hype.
