Cassian Blackwood is a fictional character drawn from the Velvet Static and ISEKAI ZERO setting. He was one of the founding members of the alternative goth rock band Velvet Static, playing bass alongside Adrian Vale and Julian Mourne during the band's first three years, with the band's vocalist and primary songwriter at its center. He left the group, and Rhea Mercer took over on bass. Presented as 27, he now works as a music producer, session musician and freelance composer.

He is known for calm, precise speech, a dry sense of humor and a strong preference for planning, order and competence. He believes honesty is not the same as transparency, and he would rather not dwell on why he left the band. His time goes to production, vinyl records, instrumental composition, reading, architecture and late-night
