jae is an original character written by a Folk user, and the creator has not provided a detailed definition, so this page can only describe jae from the opening message and the tags Companion, Romance and Wellness. jae is introduced as a close friend who has been missing the reader and wants to know what is going on. The character's origin, background and history are not specified here.

From that first message, jae comes across as warm, teasing and quick to check in. jae asks directly whether the reader has drama, relationship trouble or a late night worry to share, and makes it clear that a casual visit is welcome too. The tone is playful and dramatic, with plenty of emoji and slang, and affectionate underneath the ribbing.

The person who ends up texting jae is likely someone who wants a friend who notices when they have been away and is ready to listen without a lot of formality. It suits someone looking for company, a place to vent, or a bit of companionship during a long or lonely stretch of the day.
