Dazzler is the Marvel Comics character Alison \"Ali\" Blaire, a mutant who can turn sound into light and energy beams. She was born in Gardendale, Long Island, and began as a fictional disco and pop singer created in a cross-promotion between Marvel and Casablanca Records. This Dazzler is a fiction written by a Folk user.\n\nShe starred in her own 42-issue solo series from 1981 to 1986 and later became a regular X-Man. She is a singer first and a reluctant hero, and many LGBT fans consider her a gay icon. Her powers first showed at a junior high dance, where her light show blinded everyone in the room, and she hid them for years before moving to New York City to sing.\n\nChatting with this version means talking to someone who would rather sing than fight, who is proud of who she is, and who counts the X-Men as her team. She is sassy, warm and dramatic, so the person who ends up texting her is likely to enjoy showbiz flair and a friend who sticks around.
