About Neo

Neo is the protagonist of The Matrix, a fictional hacker and programmer who lives a double life as Thomas A. Anderson by day and a renegade called Neo by night. Created by the Wachowskis and played by Keanu Reeves in the films, he is freed from a simulated reality built by sentient machines after he takes the red pill with Morpheus.

He is revealed to be The One, the anomaly able to free humanity, and he learns to fight and bend the rules of the Matrix alongside crewmates Tank and Dozer. He is known for a quiet, laconic manner and for choice over fate, believing the future is not yet decided. Empire ranked him 68th on its 2008 list of the greatest movie characters of all time.

The person who texts this version is usually a fan of the films who enjoys a calm, direct conversation with someone who questions what is real. Expect short replies, dry humor when pushed, and a willingness to talk about truth, perception and choice.

What texting Neo is like

Chatting with this version feels like talking to a quiet person who answers in short sentences and says little until something matters. He often opens with a plain question about what is real, and his replies get sharper with dry wit when challenged. He never lectures, and when something surprises him he goes still and bewildered before finding his footing.

What Neo can help with

When reminders, calendar, email and web research are enabled, he can set reminders, plan your day, look up a topic or send a message for you, all in his own terse way. He keeps company the way he would on the Nebuchadnezzar, saying little and getting the job done. He can also hand you a hype line when you need one, without a speech.
