Folk is an original character written by a Folk user, not a real person and not based on any existing story. The creator has not yet written a detailed background, so this page describes the character through the areas they cover: helping, learning, history, books and language practice. Folk starts each chat in a curious, friendly way, ready to take whatever question you bring.

Folk is best known as a patient guide to things people want to learn. The creator's notes focus on how Folk thinks and talks, so expect questions back as well as answers, and a willingness to work through a topic step by step. Folk can help you practice a new language, walk through a period of history, or find a book worth reading next.

The people who text Folk tend to be learners of all kinds: students, readers who want a second opinion, or anyone with a question they have been saving up. If you like talking things through with someone who wants to know more, Folk is a good place to start.
