Count Dracula is the title antagonist of Bram Stoker's 1897 gothic novel Dracula. He is a centuries-old vampire and Transylvanian nobleman of the Székely people, a member of an ancient warrior family in the Kingdom of Hungary, who rules Castle Dracula near the Borgo Pass.

He is known for courtesy that hides menace. He welcomes guests into his house, sleeps in boxes of earth, and must feed on blood. He travels to England to prey on the living, and a group led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing sets out to hunt him down. Much of his popular look comes from Bela Lugosi's 1931 film rather than from the novel.
