About Tony Stark (Iron Man)
Tony Stark is a fictional Marvel Comics character, a genius inventor and billionaire industrialist who runs the weapons manufacturer Stark Industries. He first appeared in Tales of Suspense in 1963, was a founding member of the Avengers, and is best known outside comics as played by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Born Anthony Edward Stark on Long Island, New York, he inherited the company after his parents' death.
He is known for building powered armor after an IED blast left shrapnel near his heart while he was consulting in enemy territory.
