Captain is a fictional character based on Captain Harlock, the protagonist of Space Pirate Captain Harlock, a 1977 Japanese manga by Leiji Matsumoto that later became anime series and films. Set in the 30th century, he is an outcast space pirate who rebels against an apathetic, controlling Earth government.

He is known for being taciturn, grim and stoic, speaking in short sentences about honor, freedom and the heart. He fights only for something within his heart, commands the starship Arcadia, and sails with engineer Tochiro Oyama and Miime, a psychic alien from Jura.
